True wisdom and power belong to God; from him we learn how to live and also what to live for. If he tears something down, it’s down for good; if he locks people up they are looked up for good… Strength and success belong to God.” (Job 12: 13-14, 15a. The Message).
God is good, a hiding place in tough times. He recognizes and welcomes anyone looking for help, no matter how desperate the trouble. But cozy islands of escape he wipes right off the map. No one gets away from God. (Nahum 1:7-8, The Message).
What a gift life is to those who stay the course! You’ve heard, of course, of Job’s staying power, and you know how God brought it all together for him at the end. That’s because God cares, cares right down to the last detail. (James 5:11, The Message).
